Foley & Lardner’s investment in Legal Talent & Development is a testament to our firm’s commitment to fostering a culture where everyone can succeed. People are Foley’s greatest asset, and our success depends on our ability to attract, develop, and retain high-quality talent.
In fall 2019, Foley established a Legal Talent & Development Department charged with supporting and enhancing the firm’s Legal Recruiting, Diversity & Inclusion, Professional Development, and Coaching initiatives and creating a unique, Foley-branded experience across these areas.
There is no doubt that navigating the disruption of the past year has been difficult. We’re proud of the many ways that the Legal Talent & Development team demonstrated incredible resiliency and rose to the challenge of a 2020 that did not go as anyone had anticipated.
We redirected our efforts to transition interviews, the summer associate program, and training programs to a virtual environment. We conducted individual outreach and supported our attorneys in managing the impacts of COVID-19 and remote work. And we collaborated with leadership and others across the firm in addressing the racial justice movement.
As we enter 2021 with a sense of new possibilities, it seems like the right time to recognize the successes of the Legal Talent & Development Department in this 2020 Year in Review.
