Two Community Leaders Team up to Raise Awareness, Funds for Important Local Causes.
Foley announced today that it will team up with the Milwaukee Brewers in a first-ever partnership called “K’s for a Cause” to raise money for issues facing the community. As part of this four-year partnership, every time the Brewers strike out their opponent at Miller Park, Foley employees and clients will donate money to a designated local charity.
“K’s for a Cause” will benefit a new cause every year. In 2008 hunger will be the cause and the Hunger Task Force will be the charity recipient.
“Foley and the Brewers have worked together as business partners for many years. We are so proud to take that long-standing relationship to the next level to raise money and awareness for issues that affect our city,” said Foley Office Managing Partner Nancy Sennett. “With two pillars of the community coming together, we believe we will rally our employees and Brewer fans to make a significant impact on the lives of many in our community.”
After every strikeout at a home game, attention will be drawn to the “K’s for a Cause” initiative through a strikeout meter in right field. This board will log the number of strikeouts to date for the season.
“With the Brewers logging more than six hundred strikeouts at home last season, money raised by ‘K’s for a Cause’ is poised to make a real difference in the community,” said Milwaukee Brewers Executive Vice President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger. “We’re excited to team up with Foley, another Milwaukee institution, on this important initiative.”
For more than 30 years, the Hunger Task Force has been promoting socially sound policies that could end hunger in the community. It was founded in 1974 by a group of concerned parents worried about children going to school hungry, and in 1977 it responded to community need by opening a food bank to distribute free food to local charities that feed the hungry. Foley has worked with Hunger Task Force for the past 11 years.
