The article addresses the regulatory and constitutional implications of a citizen petition submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration by GlaxoSmithKline. The petition calls for the FDA to prohibit “structure/function” claims for dietary supplements that expressly or impliedly reference weight loss.
