Beck Quoted on Noncompete Partnership Agreements
December 18, 2008
Boston Business Journal
Foley Partner Russell Beck was quoted in an article titled “Legal briefs: Partners leaving firms must consider financial fallout” in the December 18, 2008 issue of the Boston Business Journal. Beck discusses the case of Joel F. Pierce & others v. Morrison Mahoney LLP, noting that the Court’s decision to allow law firms to enforce noncompete agreements against exiting partners is significant because it allows firms to impose enormous financial disincentives for lawyers to leave a firm.
