Foley Partner Mark Thimke was quoted in an article that appeared in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on November 27, 2010 titled “Biomass power plant at juncture.” Thimke discusses We Energies’ push to qualify its proposed wood-burning power plant as “carbon neutral” and move forward with building the plant in north-central Wisconsin. He states that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will allow certain types of biomass power plants to be qualified as carbon neutral, but notes that the agency has yet to draw the line regarding carbon neutral qualifications.
