Attorney Rob Johnson Talks to the Austin Business Journal About Neighborhood Restrictive Covenants
The Austin Business Journal published a story about neighborhood restrictive covenants today – a specialty of Rob Johnson, an attorney in Gardere's Austin office. Stubb's Bar-B-Q is looking to move its headquarters but a restrictive covenant stands as a roadblock. The 75 percent approval of property owners within a distance is a common municipal requirement for the rezoning of property. According to Mr. Johnson, "75 percent is not easy. Information and communication is difficult when dealing with neighborhoods and vitally important." Subscribers to the business journal may access the full article here.
Mr. Johnson is a member of Gardere's Government Affairs Practice Group and served more than five years as a Texas Assistant Attorney General. He practices in the areas of commercial litigation, condemnation / eminent domain and government contracts, among others.
