Foley was a recipient of the 2013 Restructuring Deal of the Year presented by The M&A Advisor at its 5th Annual International M&A Awards. These awards honor the leading dealteams, dealmakers and firms whose activities set the standard for cross border transactions in 2013.
Foley was recognized with the Restructuring Deal of the Year award for our contribution to the restructuring of Trinidad Cement Limited Group, the Caribbean’s leading producer of cement products. This was one of the year’s largest restructuring matters in the Caribbean, collectively re-profiling nearly TT$1.95 billion (approximately US$310 million) of the group’s outstanding debt. The Foley team, led by Miami of counsel John L. Murphy, handled the multijurisdictional workout for TCL Group, which resulted in an improvement in the group’s debt maturity profile and an increase in its financial flexibility.
Additionally, the firm was an award finalist for M&A Deal of the Year in the $10mm to $50mm category as well as the Industrial Goods and Basic Resources and Consumer and Retail Products (Under $1 Billion) categories.
