Law360 covered the absence of the plaintiffs' attorney at a recent hearing in a suit brought against the Houston Police Department's crime lab by two former employees. After first failing to enter an appearance, the plaintiffs' attorney also left without asking permission.

"This is not a bus station," U.S. District Judge Lynn N. Hughes said. "Do not just leave when you think you're through or I'll send you to the Waxahachie bus station to sit for six days."
