The column features Doogal’s perspective on President Obama’s plans for an American Lightweight Materials Manufacturing Innovation Institute in Canton Township that would speed up the development of lightweight materials across numerous industries. Doogal believes that there is a significant amount of engineering talent that resides in Michigan, and the federal government cited this as a reason why Michigan was chosen for the new institute.
