Partner Andrew Baum was quoted in a Bloomberg BNA: Patent, Trademark & Copyright Law Daily article published on May 21, 2014, titled “Laches Cannot Block Copyright Claims Brought Within 3-Year Statute of Limitations.” The article explained a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit’s determination that laches barred a copyright infringement claim brought by the daughter of a movie screenwriter. Baum was quoted saying, “It is a decision that will make life more difficult for Hollywood studios and also the music industry.”
