Hotel Business spoke with Gardere Partner Peter S. Vogel, chair of the Internet, eCommerce and Technology Team, and Clifford J. Risman, chair of the Firm's Hospitality Industry Team, about protecting hotels against security breaches with proper security.
"It's imperative that the hotel make sure they have the right technically trained folks to run their information technology operations," said Mr. Vogel. "It seems to me that we're at a point in time where there's no substitute for good, thoughtful management."
Mr. Risman added, "Most of the lawyers drafting the language in those contracts have little or no familiarity with these issues, and they don't get properly addressed."
