Tantleff Quoted on Review of EU-U.S. Privacy Shield

Partner Aaron Tantleff was quoted in a Wall Street Journal article, “The Morning Risk Report: Privacy Shield Review Can Set Debate Tone,” on April 11, 2016. The article discussed a European Commission privacy group’s (Article 29 Working Party) review of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield agreement, which will likely set the tone and direction in the ongoing debate about the agreement. Tantleff said the working party was one part of the longer path to approval. He was quoted saying, “This is only one of many elements to get this thing approved. I’m not saying this is a minor opinion, but there still is a lot of pressure to get this done.” He continued to suggest companies keep an eye on the working-party announcement, while keeping open discussions of other data-transfer agreements.
