Gardere Represents Frog Street in Acquisition by Excelligence Learning Corporation
Gardere represented Dallas-based Frog Street Press, Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive early childhood education solutions to public schools, Head Start programs and early child care centers, in its sale to Excelligence Learning Corporation. Headquartered in Monterey, California, Excelligence is a leading provider of educational tools and solutions to early childhood and elementary school teachers, administrators and parents.
In the announcement of the acquisition, Frog Street’s CEO Ron Chase said, "Joining the Excelligence portfolio of companies provides Frog Street the opportunity to increase its market and customer awareness well beyond its core Texas geography."
This transaction, which closed on April 18, 2017, is the most recent strategic investment by Excelligence to become the world's most preferred provider of early childhood educational tools and solutions. Excelligence added ChildCare Education Institute to its portfolio of brands earlier this year, as well as Really Good Stuff and Children's Factory in 2016.
Gardere corporate partner Robert Sarfatis and associate Matthew T. Moran led the team in its representation of Frog Street, with assistance from tax partner Michael J. Donohue.
