Partner Mick Hatch was quoted in a Milwaukee Biz Times article, “Coalition Launched to Raise Remaining $4.25 Million for Soldiers Home Project,” about the recently formed “Save the Soldiers Home” coalition, which will help restore six buildings at the Milwaukee VA Soldiers Home on the grounds of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. The coalition plans to raise the $4.25 million needed to restore these buildings. It is a $40 million rehabilitation project and $36 million has already been secured.
Hatch, co-chair of the coalition, said, “The Milwaukee Soldiers Home is one of Milwaukee’s most important historic and architectural assets. Together, we can return these historic buildings to their former glory, and serve the veterans who need our help the most.”
Once the project is complete, there will be 101 housing units with supportive services available for veterans and their families who are either homeless or near homeless.
