Labor and Employment Co-Chair Carrie Hoffman Quoted in Bloomberg BNA on Employee Mistakes
Gardere partner Carrie Hoffman, co-chair of the firm’s labor and employment practice, discussed best practices in responding to employee mistakes in an article for Bloomberg BNA.
As reported in the publication, “Being consistent in the way employee errors are handled is also a necessity so employers can protect themselves against accusations of disparate or discriminatory treatment … Because mistakes aren’t all equal, the situation can be complex for human resources departments, Hoffman said.”
Hoffman has defended clients throughout the U.S. in major employment litigation at both the federal and state court level, including class and collective actions. She also represents employers in investigations and audits by agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Texas Workforce Commission, the National Labor Relations Board and the Department of Labor.
