Partner Dan Kaplan was quoted in a HR Morning article, “Drafting a remote work policy: 5 legal pitfalls to watch for,” about how to craft a sound work-from-home policy.
Kaplan said employers should take a carrot-and-stick approach towards an employee who begins to work from home more frequently than the employer would like. “Tell him most people like to get away from barking dogs and crying children by coming into the office occasionally,” he said. “But if things don’t turn around, discipline is in order – especially if the job isn’t designated for off-site work.”
