Millendorf Quoted in Legaltech News About Predictions for Privacy Legislation in 2021

Senior Counsel Steve Millendorf was quoted in the Legaltech News article, “Legal Tech’s Predictions for Privacy in 2021,” outlining what attorneys and legal technologists predict about the future of privacy regulation in the new year.

Millendorf told Legaltech News that he anticipates few or no states to follow California and propose bills similar to the California Privacy Rights Act or General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

According to Millendorf: “In the early days of 2020, a number of state legislatures proposed bills modeled after California’s [California Consumer Privacy Act] or GDPR. Almost all of these have since died in the legislative process. With most states busy dealing with the economic impact of COVID, state legislatures will likely take a wait and see attitude towards sweeping privacy legislation in 2021.”
