Partner Jon Israel was quoted in the Law360 article, “Sports Leagues Risk Labor Unrest By Requiring Vaccines,” that explores whether professional sports leagues can require COVID-19 vaccines for players and the legal issues that could result from the requirements, including potential labor disputes.
Israel told Law360, leagues and players are “all economically incentivized to have full-on games and attendance and have people spending money watching [their] games,” so “maybe that is how you get everyone on board and those who have real issues with taking the vaccine are dealt with on a case-by-case basis working through those individual issues.”
Israel also commented on the issues collective bargaining agreements could present and how each side could gain leverage.
