Don Schroeder Discusses Effects of New CDC COVID-19 Recommendations for Employers
Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Don Schroeder is quoted in the American City Business Journal article, “The Playbook: CDC relaxes its COVID-19 guidance. Here’s what it means for employers,” offering analysis for employers looking to adjust workplace policy following the newly relaxed COVID-19 recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Schroeder said the revisions could have an impact on return-to-office efforts. “Assuming that employers want employees physically back in the office on a more regular basis, I think that employers have to regularly communicate changes announced by the CDC to their workforces, especially the latest guidance because they have relaxed restrictions in a significant way,” he said.
Schroeder also commented that employer response to the evolution of COVID-19 has varied. “Some employers have continued to maintain a ‘remote only’ workplace,” he said. “Others have implemented robust Covid-19 cleaning protocols, while others have relaxed masking protocols altogether and scheduled in-person lunches, gatherings and cocktail parties.”
