Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Anne Sekel is quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “Job Ad Pay Info Laws Widen Their Reach to California, Washington,” discussing the impact of pay transparency laws and whether multi-state employers should implement a nationwide strategy to get ahead of the legislative curve.
“That’s really embracing the trend,” Sekel said, “but I think ultimately companies that do that are going to save themselves time and money because they aren’t going to have to scramble to be reactive to laws that are going to come up.”
“These laws are written so that if you have someone who’s working remotely, if the job could be performed by someone in Colorado or New York City, you have to scratch your head and say, ‘Am I subject to this law?’” she added.
