Foley & Lardner LLP Associate Chrissy Wabiszewski is quoted in the Law360 article, “The 7 Biggest Benefits Rulings of 2022,” discussing several marquee decisions from a busy year in federal benefits litigation.
Wabiszewski said she is watching for the Seventh Circuit’s decision on remand in a closely followed retirement fee suit brought by ex-workers alleging mismanagement of their defined contribution retirement plan.
“We’re still seeing these types of cases being filed fairly regularly,” Wabiszewski explained. “Ultimately, I think that what it says to plan fiduciaries and employers is you’re not required to be an investment manager, but you can’t be asleep at the wheel. You need to be engaged with your plan advisors.”
