Steven Millendorf Named Leader of Influence in Technology by San Diego Business Journal
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Steven Millendorf is named a 2024 Leader of Influence in Technology by the San Diego Business Journal.
Millendorf is a seasoned privacy and cybersecurity attorney based in Foley’s San Diego office. With over two decades of experience as an engineer, he possesses a unique blend of technical proficiency and legal acumen that he exercises in his practice counseling clients across various industries on privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property matters.
A member of the firm’s Technology Transactions, Cybersecurity, and Privacy Practice Group, Millendorf is recognized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Fellow of Information Privacy. He holds IAPP certifications, including as a Certified Information Privacy Professional in the United States and European privacy laws (CIPP/US and CIPP/E) and as a Certified Information Privacy Manager. His significant background extends to compliance with various privacy and security laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and Virginia CDPA.
Millendorf regularly produces thought leadership on data privacy and cybersecurity issues and serves on the editorial board of Foley’s Innovative Technology Insights blog. He is a co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Science & Technology Law Section’s Information Security Committee and frequently speaks at the committee’s Pre-RSA Conference Meeting. Millendorf also serves on the Executive Committee for the Privacy Law Section of the California Lawyers Association.
Millendorf is an active member of his San Diego community and provides pro bono legal service for the Helen Woodward Animal Center and volunteers with the organization’s annual telethon, among other fundraising activities.
