Michelle N. Saney

Michelle Saney is experienced in complex bankruptcy litigation and appeals. Her practice focuses on all aspects of corporate restructurings and liquidations, including Chapter 11 cases and cross-border insolvencies.
In her practice, Michelle has represented debtors and creditors in Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 cases as well as official creditors’ committees, DIP lenders, purchasers of assets and unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 cases. Her restructuring matters encompass a wide variety of industries, including insurance and reinsurance, finance, steel and healthcare.
Michelle’s experience is further enriched by her extensive work with the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts. She served as a judicial law clerk to Judge James Garrity, Jr. in the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and Chief Judge Karen Specie in the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Florida. Additionally, she served as a judicial extern for Chief Judge Catherine Furay in the Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin and a legal extern in the Office of the U.S. Trustee in Madison, Wisconsin.
