The Outstanding Young Lawyer Awards recognizes the accomplishments of young attorneys who have demonstrated great potential as future leaders of the legal community. El-Aswad was the recipient of the Barrister’s Pro Bono Award for his extraordinary accomplishments in pro bono service.
El-Aswad, a litigator who represents businesses and employers in state and federal courts and arbitral proceedings across a wide array of commercial litigation and employment matters, is committed to pro bono service, particularly in matters involving prisoner civil rights and clemency.
He was recognized at an awards ceremony on July 16, 2025, in Detroit.
