Partner Roger Strode was quoted in a Chicago Tribune article, “Advocate, NorthShore Ready for Round Two in Merger Fight With FTC,” on August 18, 2016. The article discussed the potential merger between Advocate Health Care and NorthShore University HealthSystem and their ongoing battle with the Federal Trade Commission, representing a case that could alter the health care landscape regionally and nationally. Strode was quoted saying, “If the merger is allowed to go through, I think you’ll see increased activity in the Chicago market.” He continued and said health care mergers will likely continue in Chicago and elsewhere, even if the FTC scores a victory, “They may be more careful, they may be more selective about their partners, but I do think you’re going to see more.”
