Special Counsel Andrew Baluch was quoted in an October 31, 2013 Law360 article titled “Expanding Biz Method Review Could Swamp USPTO.” The article discusses how if Congress expands a program that allows greater scrutiny of some business method patents as part of a bill aimed at cracking down on so-called patent trolls, it risks overwhelming the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and weakening patent rights. Baluch was quoted saying, “I’m very worried about giving the patent office another mandate without being sure it has the resources to handle the extra work.”
