Kevin McNiff is an associate and business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Fund Formation & Investment Management, Private Equity & Venture Capital, and Private Funds & Buyout Practices.
Mr. McNiff provides counsel to emerging fund managers on the formation of venture capital and real estate funds, including management company and fund structuring, registration with state and federal securities regulators and 1940 Act compliance. He also advises public pension plans, university endowments and other institutional investors regarding investments in private funds, alternative investment vehicles, co-investments and separately managed accounts.
In addition to fund matters, Mr. McNiff has experience working with emerging technology companies and equity investment platforms, including cryptocurrency issuers and Regulation Crowdfunding portals.
During law school, Mr. McNiff worked as a legal intern for The Securities and Exchange Commission and as a research associate for The Institute of International Banking Law and Practice.
Mr. McNiff earned his law degree from The George Washington University Law School (2015) where he was a notes editor for the Public Contract Law Journal. He received his bachelor’s degree in history and French from Cornell University (2010).
