Missouri Court’s Minimum Wage Shift Featured in Law360 Article with Gardere Labor and Employment Co-Chair Carrie Hoffman

08.01.17 News

Carrie Hoffman, co-chair of Gardere’s labor and employment practice group, spoke with Law360 about Missouri’s constantly shifting minimum wage requirements.

“The answer is tough … it’s always easy to give people more money,” Hoffman said. “It’s hard to take money away and not have bad feelings and have people looking for other jobs.”

According to the reporter, “Hoffman likens the situation in St. Louis to the aftermath of the injunction blocking former President Barack Obama’s overtime rule before it took effect, after many employers had already come into compliance. In both cases, it's a headache.”
