Partner Casey Fleming and Senior Counsel Christopher King were quoted in an The American Lawyer article, “Move Over Moms, Male Lawyers Are Using Flextime Too,” about Foley’s Flexible Schedule Policy and the impact it has had on their careers and personal lives.
King, who recently went back to work full time after working at 90 percent reduced hours for 18 months, said, “We just got to a point as a family. We said, ‘This is crazy. Let’s dial it back that 10 percent and see if it’s enough.’ It was a great fit both for work and family.”
Fleming went on a 90 percent schedule in 2013 and still earned her promotions on time . “I didn’t worry about it impacting my trajectory,” she said. “Junior attorneys watch people above them like hawks, and when it happens—they see people succeeding—it makes people more comfortable.”
