Frank Murray Comments on the Vaccination Mandate for Federal Contractors

Foley Partner Frank Murray was quoted in a Washington Business Journal article, “Latest court ruling on vaccine mandate only increases unknowns for federal contractors,” about the uncertainty and obstacles the federal vaccination mandate has placed on federal contractors.

“You do have risk areas there with some of the states, which have forbidden mandates,” Murray said. “If the government loses on litigation and the mandate doesn’t go anywhere, then maybe the employer wouldn’t have wanted to move forward with it anyway.”

Murray added, “I think for the contracting community as a whole, it would be nice to have sort of one set of rulings to follow and applies nationwide in some way versus the initial decision on a handful of states where they weren’t able to enforce the contractor mandate, but it didn’t apply more broadly.”
