Mikaela understands that every client and case is unique, and adopts a client-centric approach to her work. Mikaela believes that building strong relationships with clients is key to understanding their objectives and reaching favorable results. Mikaela’s meticulous attention to detail and precise analysis of preliminary issues has resulted in innovative and favorable solutions for a number of matters both in and out of the courtroom. Mikaela understands that she is an advocate of the client before all else, and that value drives her in developing her practice at Foley.

Mikaela’s practice centers on complex commercial litigation, where she handles a diverse range of matters involving breach of contract, distribution, and franchise, private mortgaging institutions, commercial leasing disputes, commercial lending disputes, insurance litigation, and state and federal government enforcement actions.

Mikaela is frequently involved in the Dallas office’s government solutions practice, where she manages state agency enforcement actions against firm clients. In doing so, Mikaela routinely appears before the State Office of Administrative Hearings and offers unique insight into Texas administrative procedure and regulatory policy. Mikaela has vindicated many clients from agency action, including actions involving the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality, the Texas Department of Insurance, and the Texas Racing Commission. These matters typically involve extremely high stakes, with clients facing severe business disruptions or, at worse, a state-mandated shut down of operations. Mikaela’s ability to work creatively and efficiently under pressure is essential for these fast-paced and complex dockets.
