Tyler Wied works with companies to develop and manage strong patent portfolios and strategies, preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, and assisting with patentability and freedom-to-operate projects and opinions.

Tyler works with clients in a variety of technological fields including mechanical systems and devices (e.g., transmissions, hydraulics, waste management devices, pumps), medical devices (e.g., neurostimulators, biopsy needles, light therapy systems), software applications and computing systems (e.g., financial applications, building management systems, artificial intelligence applications), and a wide range of other electromechanical systems. He is a member of the firm’s Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice Group.

Prior to joining Foley, Tyler worked as a patent agent for another Milwaukee law firm where his practice similarly concentrated on helping organizations to effectively develop and manage their patent portfolios. His previous engineering experience includes working in automotive manufacturing and for a thermal spray coatings company.
