Because growth management policies continually evolve, their impact on the community also can change. Foley and Urban Land Institute (ULI) Jacksonville hosted a breakfast briefing program that outlined recent state legislative and administrative action affecting existing growth management policy.
The informal, interactive discussion was led by Robert M. Rhodes of Foley’s Real Estate Practice and Brad Thoburn, Planning Director for the City of Jacksonville. In addition to viewing a presentation of ULI’s regional visioning efforts in Florida, attendees learned about Jacksonville’s latest city planning initiatives and how they will affect local organizations. The session also provided an update on the Hometown Democracy constitutional amendment initiative, and attendees received a copy of Mr. Rhodes’ whitepaper, “The 2007 Growth Management Legislation: Clarification and More.”
