Please join Foley for an exclusive executive briefing by special guest Hudson Freeze, Ph.D. Dr. Freeze focuses his research on glycosylation — a process by which human cells are sculpted for specific needs in the body — as well as therapeutic applications for diseases that impair the genes that drive this important process. Patients with these diseases have highly variable mental and motor retardation, seizures, failure to grow, hypoglycemia, clotting, and digestion abnormalities. Though rare, with less than 1,000 known patients worldwide, these disorders likely impact many more patients who remain undiagnosed.
Dr. Freeze earned his Ph.D. from the University of California at San Diego in 1976. Subsequently, he held fellowships in biology, medicine, and neurosciences when he later joined the faculty at the same institution. In 1988, Dr. Freeze was recruited to the Burnham Institute for Medical Research.
