The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Convention is the first time an international treaty addressed the specific issue of “supply-side bribery.” Greg Bruch, a partner in Foley’s Washington, D.C. office and chair of the firm’s Securities Litigation, Enforcement & Regulation Practice, and Akita St. Clair, an attorney in the firm’s Chicago office and a member of the Securities Litigation, Enforcement & Regulation, White Collar Defense & Corporate Compliance and General Commercial Litigation Practices, co-authored Article 8: Accounting in The OECD Convention on Bribery – A Commentary, which was published April 2007.
The OECD Convention brought together 36 countries to establish international standards for compliance with anti-corruption rules.
