David Hickerson Brings Extensive Trial and Government Enforcement Experience.
Foley today announced that litigator David A. Hickerson has joined the firm as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office, working with the White Collar Defense, Securities Enforcement & Litigation, and General Commercial Litigation Practices. Prior to joining Foley, Hickerson was a partner at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP.
Hickerson represents clients in all phases of disputes, including trials and appeals, and has successfully represented clients in international arbitrations as well. He has significant experience representing clients in complex, multi-forum litigation and regularly litigates in the Eastern District of Virginia’s “rocket docket.” Hickerson is also a member of the International Trade Commission Trial Lawyers Association, where he has represented a number of clients in Section 337 intellectual property-based investigations.
“Based on my experience working with Foley in the past, the firm has superior white collar and securities enforcement practices,” explained Hickerson. “It’s exciting to be working with such well-known and respected attorneys, and Foley’s platform also provides me the opportunity to expand my litigation practice in the areas of intellectual property and international trade commission disputes.”
Hickerson also has significant experience in conducting internal investigations and defending clients in government enforcement proceedings. He has achieved successful results for clients in a broad range of litigated matters, including criminal and government enforcement proceedings, commercial, tax, and intellectual property litigation.
“David brings a wealth of experience in complex litigation matters ranging from intellectual property to tax while also expanding Foley’s internal investigations and international capabilities,” said Jay W. Freedman, managing partner of Foley’s Washington, D.C. office. “We look forward to the contributions that David’s unique background will make to our Washington litigation team.”
“David’s experience handling a variety of commercial and civil litigation matters in multiple jurisdictions immediately strengthens our existing national white collar defense and securities enforcement litigation practices,” added Scott L. Fredericksen, a partner in Foley’s White Collar Defense practice in Washington, D.C. and a former federal prosecutor.
