Barry Mandel Brings Extensive Securities and Litigation Experience.
Foley announced today that Barry Mandel has joined the firm as a partner in the New York office, working with the Securities Enforcement & Litigation Practice and White Collar Defense Practice.
Mandel most recently served as co-head of Global Litigation, Employment and Regulatory Affairs for Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., where he managed a department with more than 50 attorneys. In this role, Mandel oversaw Merrill Lynch’s worldwide litigation matters and also evaluated litigation risk for the company’s business units. He also held a variety of other legal management roles at Merrill Lynch during his 17-year tenure at the company.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mandel was a litigator with Baer Marks & Upham LLP where he practiced for 15 years and also served on the firm’s management committee. Mandel began his career as an attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and also served as branch chief in its Division of Enforcement, New York Regional Office, where he handled various matters that went to the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Mandel joins the firm following the recent addition of energy and infrastructure attorneys Howard Margulis and Ellen Wolchek, who also reside in the New York office.
