Winer and Wallace Quoted on Dodd-Frank Bounty Provision "Pitfalls"
September 8, 2010
Compliance Week
Foley partners Kenneth Winer and Richard Wallace are quoted in a recent Compliance Week article (September 8, 2010) discussing the Dodd-Frank Act’s whistleblower bounty provision. Ken Winer notes that the greater protections the bill affords whistleblowers over those who simply raise their concerns within the company might encourage employees to go directly to the government. Richard Wallace questions whether the sheer “crush” of new cases will compel the SEC to favor “select, ‘statement’ cases rather than pursuing hundreds of separate cases.”
