Partner Jonathan Israel was quoted in a Reuters article published on March 26, 2014, titled, “Northwestern Players Score in Bid to Unionize College Football.” The article analyzes the decision made by the Chicago regional director of the National Labor Relations Board that football players at Northwestern University who get scholarship money are effectively school employees, giving them the right to organize what could become the first labor union for U.S. college athletes. Israel was quoted saying, “I do think if schools were to view it as a serious threat, you might see some adjustments in how they manage the players.”
