Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is pleased to announce that partner Fernando Camarena Cardona and of counsel Miguel Ángel Hernández Romo have been selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers™ in Mexico 2018 in the fields of corporate and M&A law, and commercial litigation, respectively. This is the fourth consecutive year that Camarena has been named to the list, and the fifth year for Hernández Romo.
“Fernando and Miguel are committed to providing first-rate service and legal representation to our clients, and this honor is a reflection of that commitment,” said Roberto Arena Reyes Retana, managing partner of Gardere’s Mexico City office. “They are an integral part of our firm’s success in Mexico City, and we congratulate them on their well-deserved recognition.”
Camarena focuses his practice on international and domestic tax issues in Mexico, as well as mergers and acquisitions and corporate law. He represents small companies to Fortune 500, FTSE 100 and other global and brand-name corporations in the energy, manufacturing, nutritional supplement and insurance industries, among others. Camarena’s experience also includes matters encompassing insurance regulatory and government contracts.
Hernández Romo, who joined Gardere in September as part of the firm’s acquisition of Mexico City boutique Bufete Hernández Romo, is a litigation attorney who focuses his practice on civil, commercial, arbitration and bankruptcy proceedings. A professor and practitioner of law since 1961, Hernández Romo is a former dean of his alma mater, Escuela Libre de Derecho, and a member of the American Law Institute, where he was the chair and co-reporter for the Transnational Insolvency Project.
