Nederhood Quoted in Michigan Lawyers Weekly on Redevelopment of Tiger’s Stadium
Senior Counsel Rob Nederhood discussed with Michigan Lawyers Weekly Foley & Lardner’s role in the redevelopment of Tiger’s Stadium in Detroit. In the article “A sidebar with..Rob Nederhood,” Nederhood explained how the firm provided pro bono services to the Detroit Police Athletic League to help the organization redevelop the historic property into a youth sports facility, including a new minor league stadium with 2,000 seats.
Foley’s work included helping PAL obtain new market tax credits, negotiating with developers and working with donors and foundations to secure grants. “I would say this is one of the coolest projects I’ve worked on in my career. We’re very proud to be a part of it at Foley. Tiger Stadium is a place that holds so many memories for so many people, and to see it now redeveloped especially for kids playing baseball and also football, lacrosse, soccer and everything else, I think it’s a really fitting re-use for that site that’s been a gem in Detroit and that so many people cherish,” Nederhood said.
