Nathaniel Lacktman on Healthleaders Podcast– ‘We’re seeing maturity in the telemedicine market’
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Nathaniel Lacktman discussed the upcoming American Telemedicine Association’s (ATA) annual conference, new developments in telemedicine and digital health, regulations, and the industry’s bright future prospects on the Healthleaders podcast episode, “Telehealth Takes Center State with ATA Nexus.”
Lacktman, who is chair of Foley’s Telemedicine & Digital Health Industry Team and serves on the ATA board of directors, offered a preview of the topics ATA Nexus 2024 will explore, including the fusion of services and technology, specialty care, the business of telehealth, and augmented, virtual, and medical extended reality.
Giving his assessment of how telemedicine has evolved, Lacktman explained that while the pandemic did not create the industry, it accelerated its growth through providing an environment for providers to experiment and for patients to build familiarity and comfort with the health care tools offered. He noted that as part of the continual evolution of the industry, emphasis is now shifting from a growth mindset to one of sustainability.
“We’re seeing maturity in the telemedicine market,” he added.
