Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Benjamin Dryden is quoted in The Wall Street Journal article, “Kroger-Albertsons Antitrust Review Likely to Focus on Local Store Overlap,” discussing what antitrust authorities reviewing the planned $20 billion merger will consider significant.
Dryden said competition authorities typically look within a radius of between two to 10 miles to measure grocery markets and exclude discounters, like dollar stores, from their analysis.
“The FTC is going to take this very seriously,” he added.
