Craig Florence Named 2023 Leader in Diversity by Dallas Business Journal
Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Craig Florence has been named to the Dallas Business Journal’s 2023 Class of Leaders in Diversity.
Honorees were selected for having demonstrated exceptional commitment to promoting practices that advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace, as well as having shown leadership and bolstered equality across all areas of diversity – including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race, and religion.
In Florence’s award profile, he discusses his extensive community engagement efforts, including serving on the board of Texas Appleseed, Carter BloodCare, and Austin College, and how their respective initiatives help further diversity and inclusion across the state of Texas.
Florence said his biggest accomplishments over the past year advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts included promoting DEI on non-profit boards, working with Austin College to serve Texas’ diverse students, and supporting DEI at Foley.
“Embracing diversity in the workplace will continue in the legal industry, but it’s by no means the only way legal firms should evolve. Pro bono service is at the forefront, and in Texas, that encompasses assisting immigrants attempting to navigate the asylum process, working to set aside wrongful criminal convictions, and supporting efforts to shed a light on our state’s failed foster care system,” Florence said.
Award recipients were recognized on February 23 at the Arts District Mansion in Dallas.
