Annie Brennan is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and practices out of the firm’s Boston office. Annie is a member of Foley’s Fund Formation & Investment Management Practice.

Annie advises private investment sponsors in all aspects of fund formation, including capital raising, marketing, preparing offering documents, drafting organizational documents and counseling clients on regulatory, compliance and operational issues both during an active fund raise and during the operational stage, including with respect to sponsor carried interest and management company arrangements. Annie’s sponsor clients include established and emerging private equity, venture capital, growth equity, credit and fund-of-funds sponsors.

Additionally, Annie advises institutional investors, including endowments, family offices, governmental plans, fund-of-funds, and corporations on their private capital investment activity.

Annie has also advised private fund sponsors, buyers, and sellers in secondary transactions.

Before joining Foley, Annie served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Donald L. Cabell at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Annie also worked as a legal intern at Project Citizen, where she provided legal support to immigrants seeking citizenship.

Before pursuing a legal career, Annie worked as the Coffee Operations Manager for Sustainable Harvest, a coffee importer. Prior to that, she was the Governance, Risk Management, & Compliance Associate at Root Capital, a nonprofit lending organization.
