Drew Schulte

Partner

As an attorney admitted to practice before both the United States and European patent offices, Drew Schulte is an innovator in using multijurisdictional approaches to service his clients’ needs. A thought leader in patenting cutting-edge technology and scientific disciplines such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and other fintech applications, Drew’s understanding of technology, his specific legal insights on the intricacies of patenting complex subject matters, and recognition of the nuances that drive value for these patents is particularly evident in his successes navigating the challenges of matter eligibility, in both the United States and Europe, for patents in these spaces.

Beyond successfully obtaining patent protection for his clients in difficult areas, Drew stands by his work and defends his granted patents. In addition to post-grant proceedings in the United States, Drew has handled more than 60 European Patent Office (EPO) oppositions and argued before both the EPO Technical Board of Appeals and the Enlarged Board of Appeals.

Drew is a frequent contributor to legal news outlets and often opines on cross-border strategies and emerging technology considerations. Drew also routinely advocates for innovation in the legal industry, specifically with respect to the use of statistical analysis and technology-backed approaches for obtaining the highest quality and best results for his clients.
