Partner Jennifer Rathburn has been named one of 22 outstanding women lawyers by the Wisconsin Law Journal.
She and other honorees were feted during the law journal’s annual Women in the Law event June 20 at Discovery World in Milwaukee.
Rathburn, who focuses her practice on counseling clients on data protection programs, data incident management, breach response and recovery, monetization of data, and other privacy and security issues, was singled out for being part of a minority in the industries she works with and represents. She also was recognized for helping co-found the Midwest Cybersecurity Alliance, which gives those in the industry an opportunity to discuss privacy and security problems and solutions.
She believes women are getting more exposure from being in legal compliance risk roles. “It opens lots of doors for women because it’s a strategic risk practice, not just an IT practice,” she said.
