Rothman discusses the resurgence of initial public stock offerings (IPOs) in the Milwaukee area, noting that companies have developed a pent-up demand for raising capital, whether to exit private-equity ownership or to de-lever their balance sheets. He adds that it may be premature for many companies to pursue IPOs before the economy shows stronger signs of improvement.
