He said that certain types of data that is subject to state or federal regulations may have specific security requirements, adding that companies can obtain detailed security information from their cloud providers to clarify how data is protected. Overly also pointed out that some cloud providers have multiple data centers both in the U.S. and abroad, and noted the importance of due diligence to confirm precisely where sensitive data is stored.
