Special Counsel Brian Sylvester spoke at New Harvest 2019 on location at MIT’s Media Lab. The conference focused on cellular agriculture and brought together more than 350 start-ups, life science companies, PhDs, regulators and venture capitalists.
Sylvester spoke on a panel discussing the regulatory landscape for cell-based foods and provided an overview of where the United States currently stands on regulation and policy. He also provided insight regarding a recently issued Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the FDA and the role each agency will play in regulation.
